The engineering company FRECON cooperates closely with several customers in the western part of Jutland and it was decided to open the office in Esbjerg in autumn 2017. Proximity to customers helps to improve day-to-day collaboration, and FRECON plans to open more offices in Denmark.
Thus, several customers of FRECON in western Jutland have their home-office in Esbjerg. This applies primarily to companies in the wind turbine industry. FRECON can already notice the value of the local presence.
Local anchoring improves services for customers
“The big part of cooperation with customers takes place at the port of Esbjerg,” says Jens Juul, Senior Design Engineer at FRECON in Esbjerg. Jens came to FRECON after working in many years at Vestas. “It is very valuable in our everyday cooperation that we can meet with the customer within a short period of time and discuss if, for example, they have some adjustments to a requirement specification. Our customers appreciate it, and it provides both very flexible and agile collaboration.”
Local suppliers
At the same time, FRECON tries to find local subcontractors for the tasks in Esbjerg. “We would like to proceed the tasks locally, when it is possible to find subcontractors with the right skills,” Jens continues. “Simultaneously, it can give some tasks for us, as we can also help our subcontractors to solve tasks for their other customers, for example, in the calculation and documentation.”
Need more hands
FRECON has attracted customers in the western part of Jutland and is looking for more employees for the office in Esbjerg. “We search primarily for mechanical engineers with experience in the oil and gas sector,” says Jens. “Of course, we have close cooperation with our colleagues in Horsens, but it is also a part of our strategy to increase our staff here in Esbjerg. We have many interesting tasks in the pipeline and looking forward to hearing from potential new employees.”
