Wind- and stress load test, strength calculations, technical documentation and CE marking on a wide range of well-known items for the household.
Many end consumers may not know F&H Com A/S, located just north of Horsens. But so do the vast majority of DIY retailers in Denmark and worldwide. Nevertheless, most people know the products of F&H Com due to their wide selection of leisure- and garden equipment and building components.
F&H Com is both a manufacturer and trading house, and every year 50-75 new item numbers are added within the categories house, garden, leisure and outdoor. In particular, Denmark and Germany account for a large part of sales. In addition, they also supply the vast majority of Danish DIY retailers and Europe as well as customers in e.g. Japan, Panama and Kenya. This includes products such as windscreens, garden fences, garden machines and canopies.
Designing their own huge product range
The company designs and manufactures most items themselves. Generally, they want to design items with many functionalities, and there are, without exception, high quality requirements to be met – on all products. Thus, the engineering company FRECON is a regular partner to help ensure that F&H Com always delivers products that meet both Danish and international quality and safety requirements.
The cooperation between F&H Com and FRECON among others include:
When FRECON approaches the design of F&H Com, they use e.g. Finite Elements Methods and Analysis (FEM/FEA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), as these methods are effective and extremely useful tools to ensure proper strength conditions and prepare technical dossiers for CE marking.
Niels Bendixen, Project Director, FRECON:
”The collaboration with F&H Com is particularly interesting to us, as we are working in somewhat different product categories compared to what we otherwise do. This is great, because it is all about mastering knowledge transfer, and our engineers show time and again that they are pretty good at this.”
